Out of Town Patients
Dr. Rodwell often takes care of patients traveling from out of town or out of state seeking expert care. The most common procedures that patients travel for are specialized surgeries like deep plane facelifts, rhinoplasty / revision rhinoplasty, nasal filler injections, and otoplasty.
After contacting our staff, we typically have out of town patients share a few photographs via email prior to setting up a virtual consultation with Dr. Rodwell using FaceTime, Skype, or Zoom. The final treatment recommendations cannot be set until an in-person examination has been performed, but Dr. Rodwell can provide guidance and determine the most helpful treatment options during a virtual consultation.
After surgery, out of state patients usually need to remain in the Charleston area for 7-10 days before returning home. Most out of town patients living within a 2-3 hour drive plan to spend 1 night in Charleston and are then free to travel home and return for scheduled follow up appointments a few days later. Our patient care coordinator can assist in arranging hotel or AirBnB accommodations as well as a private nurse if needed.
Many procedures can be performed in our downtown office, but surgical procedures performed under anesthesia are all done at a fully accredited outpatient surgery center.
Located less than 5 miles from the office, Roper James Island Surgery Center is a fantastic facility with a truly exceptional staff. As part of the larger Roper system the outpatient surgery center is fully credentialed and maintains the highest standards of care and equipment. All surgeries are performed with a board certified MD Anesthesiologist in the room at all times.
For your convenience we offer a variety of payment options including personal check, cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express as well as Care Credit. Our patient care coordinator can assist with any questions you may have by phone at (843) 628-1415 or during your consultation appointment.
Cosmetic surgeries require a scheduling deposit and payment in advance of surgery. Further details can be discussed with our patient care coordinator.
There is a $100 consultation fee for all in person new patient appointments and a $50 consultation fee for virtual consults.
The consultation fee in either scenario is treated as office credit for any procedure or treatment scheduled within 6 months from the date of the consult. The consult fee cannot be applied to the purchase of skincare products.
We are not currently accepting new patients for insurance.
