What to Expect After Sculptra
No downtime is required after treatment, but you may experience some mild swelling, tenderness, and some bruising which should quickly improve even without treatment. Lidocaine is added to the solution, but an additional topical numbing cream is also applied before your treatment. Dr. Rodwell suggests avoiding any strenuous activity for 24 hours following Sculptra treatment, but you can otherwise resume all of your normal activities right after the procedure.
Beneficial results materialize gradually over the course of your series of treatments for aging skin. The results from Sculptra are long-lasting with most patients seeing great results for 2 years or more after a full course of treatment. Patients would then have the option to continue smaller touch-up procedures in order to maintain the volume improvement over time.
